When you see bike lane violations…report them.

mybikelane.jpg
NYC mybikelane.com is keeping track of bike lane violators.

Here is how it works:

(From their website)
“How To Use MyBikelane
Bring your digital camera or camera phone on your next bike ride.
If you see a car/truck/etc. parked in the bikelane, take a picture of that car, making sure to try to capture the license plates in your picture (if they are not clear, that is ok, we will still take the pic).
Upload your picture to our site (using the button in the upper right) and tell us where you saw this incident.
Browse around and see other submissions.

if you have questions, find bugs, have feature suggestions, or just want to say hi, feel free to contact us by emailing us at support@mybikelane.com.”

I recently purchased a new digital camera at Wal-mart. If I was smart I would have waited a little longer to purchase the camera. Digital cameras are one of the most common discounted products during Cyber Monday. Oh well, I still got an excellent deal on the digital camera. However, if you haven’t made the same mistake I did, check out all the cyber monday digital camera sales. They are all hot and will save you a ton of money!

The most troublesome spot for me is anywhwere on chambers st as i attempt to connect the BklynBridge and west side path. The greatest violators every day seem to be official’s cars or cops. Does anyone know If it is legal to photograph a police vehicle and plates. i was told by a cop that it was illegal, anyone out there know what the facts are?

i’m pretty sure the cop was lying. the police are public officials and can be photographed, so why not their vehicles? they are supposed to tell you their badge #s for god sakes. they will lie to you either because they’re counting on your own fear and ignorance or because they’re filled with their own.
