In response he had on the Brian Lehrer show, Hal Ruzal, bicycle guru from one of the oldest bike shops in NYC, Bicycle Habitat (244 Lafayette St-NYC)
Hal had some good tips on where to lock your bike and what equipment to use.

=v= Mad props to Hal and everyone at Bike Habitat. When the Bic Pen U-Lock thing happened 5 years ago, they replaced locks at their own expense (until Kryptonite got on the stick). These are folks who want you to keep your bike!
