Another Stolen bike-Ken Stanek

This time its from a key member of the bike culture scene in NYC. Ken Stanek, known for organizing charity alleycat races like Cranksgiving, Los Marcos polo events and running Bike shorts had his bike stolen last week.

Be on the look out for this gem, it’s got a lot of sentimental value, not to mention being a great bike.

From Ken:
This is my road bike. It was stolen from Rockefeller Center (where I work) sometime between 1:30pm and 6:00pm today. (2/23/10)
55cm, curved seattube, carbon fiber, Neuvation Wheelset, 105 components, clips & cages, Selle Italia saddle.

Locked up as it is every day with a Krypto chain & American lock through both wheels + frame.
Unfortunately, locked to a bike rack that wasn’t even bolted to the ground.
There was no evidence of the chain/lock at all when I found it gone.

I won a bunch of races on this thing.

More on the bike here.

any information about this ride, contact me or email Ken at ken@studionumbernine.net

  • Damn, that’s a beautiful bike. Sorry to hear about this.

Well at least the whole city is gonna be lookin for it. I don’t know Ken real well but I know enough about him to know that whoever I see riding this bike (unless it’s Ken) won’t be on it for long.
