Just got this email from new bike shop owner, Brian.
I just wanted to let you all know that there is a new shop that has opened in Fort Greene.
It’s called Red Lantern Bicycles.
If you’re familiar with Brooklyn Bike and Board, all the the friendly, knowledgeable, and darn good looking fellows you know and love left there to open this shop.
It’s a full service repair shop, a retail space, bikes with a heavy emphasis on commuting, as well as a cafe.
The cafe will be serving coffee, beer, and wine.
The vision is to make it a place where anyone and everyone can come and hang out, have some drinks, and dork out about bikes. You can stop in for a flat and have a cup of coffee. End your long ride here and have a couple of beers. Have a weekly meeting for whatever bicycle niche/group your into. Or, just come in for a tune-up if none of that tickles your fancy.
The bike shop will be open 7 days a week, 9AM to 9PM. The cafe/bar will be open 8am to 11pm, 7 days a week.
Enclosed are some pics of the progress. As you can see, the bike shop is fully operational. The coffee shop is nearly complete and will be up and running this week. Beer and wine will come as soon as the liquor license is approved. Hopefully this month.
Any questions, feel free to contact me.
Thanks for your time and I hope to see you soon.
