According to the blog of theNYC Mountain Bike Association (NYCMTB) from May, 2013…

“What is currently a vacant 55,000-square-foot lot on Kent Avenue between South 3rd and South 4th Streets will be transformed by two independent operators into a neighborhood destination with a community farm, bilingual reading room, community green space, family-friendly bike courses, affordable food and goods from local vendors and a variety of seasonal programming, including kids days, yoga classes, and hands-on urban farming classes.”

The bike side of the park will be run by nearby shop: Ride Brooklyn (34 North 7th-Williamsburg) and a new mountain bike club: www.BKMTB.com, which is listed as a meetup. The park will also have assistance by the NYCMTB which has had a steady history of successfully revitalizing NYC urban space for mountain bike use.
