Thieves Targeting Ghost Bikes For Parts By: James Schuh Published: August 7th, 2012
Thieves are now stripping parts from “ghost bikes,” the white bicycles placed as memorials to slain cyclists, according to the Brooklyn Paper.
The city heard the outcries of families of loved ones killed by motor vehicles and decided not to remove the ghost bike memorials.

Sunday, January 4th, was the 4th annual memorial ride, paying respect to cyclists and pedestrians who were killed in 2008, by motor vehicles.
The multi-borough ride was organized by the Street Memorial Project.
